Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Degree

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) are assigned routine and basic duties within hospitals, medical clinics, rehabilitation centers, and convalescent centers. Very little post-high school training is required to work as an LPN.

LPN training requirements vary in each state, but most aspiring LPNs are usually required to complete a one year training program. Many schools now offer LPN certification programs online. Additionally, before being licensed as a LPN, one must pass a standardized test.

LPNs frequently spend a few years obtaining work experience before earning a bachelor's degree in nursing. With the flexibility offered by online programs, many LPNs keep their full-time jobs while they obtain additional education.
