Nuclear Engineers

Nuclear engineers research and design the equipment and processes used to harness nuclear energy. They design, monitor, and work at nuclear power plants. Nuclear engineers are responsible for the nuclear fuel cycle, meaning the production, handling, and disposal of nuclear fuel. Some engineers develop nuclear power sources to be used on navy ships, submarines, or spacecraft. Some nuclear engineers develop machines using radioactive materials used in health care applications.
