Whittier College offers one of the most diverse educations in the country. This institution in Whittier, California, is comprised of around 33 percent Latino enrollment, and around 25 percent of the faculty are minorities or originate from a foreign country. Students from many economic and ethnic backgrounds enjoy a liberal arts education at Whittier College.

Interdisciplinary learning is the main point of emphasis at Whittier College, which can offer as many as 30 major degrees along with 30 minors. The Whittier Scholars Program allows students to design their own course of study with emphasis on their own interests or goals. The opportunity to learn outside of the classroom is also available with internships and projects as a part of many of the areas of study. Students are encouraged to take advantage of study abroad programs with semester or year-long plans available. The January Interim program is a 4-week study plan that has become a popular area of learning for Whittier students.

A well-rounded education is important at Whittier College, which had led to more than 90 student-run clubs and organizations of many interests. Campus life includes options of fraternities and sororities.
