University of South Florida

The University of South Florida (USF) is a public research university in Tampa, Florida, enrolling approximately 50,000 students. USF is part of the State University System of Florida, which also includes USF St. Petersburg and USF Sarasota-Manatee.

USF is organized into 14 academic colleges, and offers over 80 undergraduate degree programs and more than 130 specialist, graduate, and doctoral programs. The university employs over 1,000 faculty members. In the Fall of 2013, USF had an acceptance rate of 55%. During the same semester, incoming freshmen had an average high school GPA of 3.65 and an average SAT score of 1167.

U.S. News & World Reports ranks USF among the top 100 public schools in the country, and among the top 10 "up and coming" universities. Many of USF's graduate programs consistently rank among the 50 best in the nation, including the graduate Education, Library and Information Studies, Public Health, and Criminology programs.

The University of South Florida offers a variety of online and distance learning programs for students with busy schedules or who are unable to attend campus on a regular basis. USF offers online bachelor's and master's degree. It also offers hundreds of individual courses online. Many undergraduate degrees that aren't available entirely online can be earned partially online. Online and hybrid undergraduate and graduate degrees are available in criminal justice, information studies, public health, information technology, nursing, education, business, arts, engineering, medicine and public health.
