Taft College

Fully accredited, part of the California Community Colleges System and located in Taft California you’ll find Taft College. Taft is one of very few community colleges in the state of California that has student dormitories right on campus.

Like many community colleges, Taft offers Associate of Science and Associate of Arts degrees and a number of certificate programs. In addition, Taft has a student-focus to help prepare them for transfer to a 4-year institution or for advancement in their current career. Taft has transfer agreements with California State University as well as the University of California.

Taft boasts a large Children’s Center (the largest of any California community college). The college has also been offering the dental hygiene program since the early 1990s. Their Dental Hygiene Clinic is a great place for students to practice what they have learned as it is open to the public. In addition, Taft also runs the TIL (Transition to Independent Living) program. This program is designed to teach adults all they need to know to live on their own.

Through ETUDES, a distance learning course management system, Taft College offers students the opportunity to college courses online as they work toward earning their degree. Online learning and online courses are ideal for working adults and aspiring professionals who want to earn a college degree but are unable to attend a campus-based program.
