Southern Union State Community College is a public community college that offers a wide range of academic, health science, technical, and social science programs. The college is located in Wadley, Alabama, and serves students from the east-central Alabama and west-central Georgia regions. In addition to its main campus in Wadley, Southern Union maintains branch campuses in Valley, Alabama, and Opelike, Alabama. Every campus offers an open-door policy to potential students. With an average annual enrollment of over 5,000 students, Southern Union is one of the larger community colleges in the region.

Southern Union State Community College is accredited to award the Associate of Science (A.S.) and Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees. It also awards professional certificates.
