Rush University

Rush University is privately owned and operated university located in Chicago, Illinois. It is the home of Rush University Medical Center, a 676-bed hospital and academic medical center. Rush University consists of the Rush Medical College, Rush University College of Health Sciences, Rush University College of Nursing, and The Graduate College of Rush University.

The Rush Medical College is Rush University's medical school. It offers a full-time Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program and is affiliated with the nearby Rush University Medical Center, as well as the Jr. Hospital of Cook County, John H. Stroger Hospital and NorthShore Univesrity Health System. The medical college offers one-year preclinical, two-year preclinical, three-year clinical and four-year clinical programs.

The Rush University Collegeof Health Sciences is the second largest health sciences higher education institution in the city of Chicago. The colleges offers a variety of academics programs in clinical nutrition, occupational therapy, health systems management, physician assisting, medical physics, vascular ultrasound, perfusion technology, and health and human values to name just a few. The college offers a bachelor's degree program, two doctoral programs and ten master's level degree programs.

The Rush University College of Nursing is consistently ranked among the top 5% of nursing schools in the United States that have a graduate nursing program. Many of the individual nursing programs within the school are also ranked among the best in the nation. The school is know for it's world class education, innovation, vision and research. The school offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in nursing, along with several graduate certificate programs.

The Graduate College at Rush University offers educational programs in basic sciences and nursing. The colleges offers both master's and doctoral degree programs. As of 2007, the colleges offers a master's degree in biotechnology and clinical research. Areas of study include biochemistry, anatomy, medical physics, microbiology, physiology, biophysics, neuroscience and clinical research.
