Rio Hondo College

Getting to and from college is not a problem for students at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California. Full-time students (taking 12 or more credits) are eligible to receive a free bus pass on many local bus lines, including Montebello Bus Lines, Norwalk Transit, Sunshine Shuttle, Metro and Foothill Transit. Rio Hondo College serves many communities in the area, including Whittier, South El Monte, Santa Fe Springs, Pico Rivera and El Monte.

The ease of transportation to, from and around campus has earned the school the nickname “Go Rio.”

The college has hosted the fire and police academies for Rio Hondo, through the California government suspended the police academy after a security breach involved in testing Students can participate in on and off-campus study as well as on-line programs for multiple areas of study.
