Mercer University

Mercer University is a private university based in Macon, Georgia. Mercer serves a student body of over 8,000 students, and is the only institution in the southern region of the U.S. that offers programs in engineering, medicine, pharmacy, liberal arts, and law, all at the same university.

Mercer is organized into the following 12 colleges and schools: Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Professions, Business, Education, Law, Music, Liberal Arts, Engineering, Continuing and Professional Studies, and Theology.

In addition to its main campus in Macon, Mercer University also operates a four-year campus of the School of Medicine in Savannah, as well as a graduate and professional education campus in Atlanta. Mercer also maintains teaching hospitals in Savannah, Macon, and Columbus; regional academic centers in Newnan, Eastman, Douglas County, and Henry County; a performing arts center (the Grand Opera House) in Macon; and the Mercer Engineering Research Center in Warner Robins.

U.S. News and World Report ranked Mercer University #1 in the category of Best Value (Southern region). It is consistently ranked in the top 10 percentile of all universities and colleges throughout the country by The Princeton Review. Mercer was one of 113 universities in the United States to be included among the 2013 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction, and was recognized for its exemplary community involvement by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Even more, Mercer University's campus was ranked among the top 5 most beautiful campuses in the country.

Online Degrees at Mercer University
Through the Penfield College division of Mercer, the university offers its students the opportunity to earn their degree via online distance learning. Mercer University offers fully online learning program, campus learning programs and a combination of the two for its students. State-of-the-art web-based learning tools, including proven online course management systems such as Moodle and Blackboard, make online learning at Mercer convenient, flexible and enjoyable.

Penfield College at Mercer offers two online degree-completion programs, a large variety of general education courses, a graduate certificate, and bachelor's level major coursework entirely online. Again, students can complete their entire degree online or they can also take campus-based programs to compliment their online degree.
