Laguna College of Art & Design

Laguna College of Art & Design (LCAD) is one of the country’s top graphic arts schools and can prove it: Upon graduation, students enter the job market and are hired at a 99 percent rate.

The school, which is located in Laguna Beach, California, is large enough to provide many options of study but small enough (450 students) to provide individual attention. Bachelor’s degrees in Fine Arts are offered in fields such as Painting and Drawing, Game Art, Illustration, Design and Digital Media and Animation. The school also offers minors in Action Sports Design, as well as in Sculpture. There are Master’s and other post-graduate programs offered as well.

The Game Art program is one of the best in the country. Recent graduates have been hired by some of the best gaming companies in the world: EA, Activision and Disney, among others. LG Electronics recently honored LCAD as one of the top 10 art and design colleges in the country.

There are opportunities for students to study abroad with the Florence (Italy) Academy of Art. Painting and Drawing students can earn credits with the Art Students League. The Academy for Digital Media, which is at NHTV Breda University, is available for Game Art majors to explore new areas of study.
