Florida Tech University

The Florida Institute of Technology, more commonly known as FIT or Florida Tech, is a private university offering a range of degrees in the disciplines of engineering and science. Located in Melbourne, Florida, Florida Tech comprises 5 academic divisions and specializes in the fields of technology, mathematics, science, and engineering. It is also one of the only universities in the country to offer a degree in aviation.

Although Florida Tech is comparably young and small, it has developed a prestigious reputation for itself. It is widely recognized as one of the best doctoral-granting universities in the country, and many of its alumni have gone on to illustrious careers. Its 60,000+ alumni include a director of a NASA center, the first female 4-star general (and 2 other 4-star generals), a major league pitcher, a recipient of the National Teacher of the Year award, five Space Shuttle astronauts, an Olympic medalist, and thousands of respected pilots, scientists, engineers, and managers in high-tech professions.
