Located in Omaha, Nebraska, Creighton University is a private, Jesuit, Roman Catholic university accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. It is one of 28 institutions that make up the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. Established in 1878 by the Society of Jesus, Creighton University is Nebraska's largest private religious university.

Creighton University serves a student body of roughly 7,500 students, who come from all over the central United States. Roughly 60% of these students are undergraduates. Creighton University has a student-to-faculty ratio of 11-to-1 (undergraduate studies), and 33 chairs in a range of disciplines.
