College of Alameda

College of Alameda, located in Alameda, California is a two-year public community college. With a uniquely designed campus, faculty, staff and students are able to more effectively communicate.

The education basics are offered at the college, and students are also able to take advantage of tutoring and course labs. The college also makes available a comprehensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program. As part of the program, ESL students practice and gain language proficiency through listening, writing, speaking and reading at their own level.

College of Alameda offers associate degrees in a number of areas. As with any associate degree program, most, if not all of the student’s credits are fully transferrable to four-year universities. Also available to students is certificate training programs as well as technical or occupational training for certain career fields. Some of these programs include: Auto Body Painting, Aviation Maintenance Technology and Dental Assisting, among many others.

Online courses and distance learning programs are available through the Peralta Community College District (which College of Alameda) belongs to. Online classes and courses are a convenient and alternative option to campus-based programs.
