Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Science

Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science is a privately owned and operated university based in Willowbrook, California. As a non-profit organization, it provides education to many minorities and is considered a Historically Black College and University. Its medical school was created after many began fighting for the rights of the minorities to become doctors and provide service to the people in South Los Angeles about fifty years ago.

As well as their school of medicine, the university also offers graduate studies in nursing, public health and pre-medicine, an undergraduate degree in life science, and two associate programs in medical technology.

The university is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and it intends to open another four-year medical and nursing institution in association with the University of California.
