Cañada College

It’s one of the smallest community colleges in San Francisco but the educational opportunities are plentiful. Canada College, which has its campus in Redwood City, California, has more than 40 programs available for study in disciplines such as Humanities and Social Sciences, Business, Science and Technology, Design and Workforce.

Cañada College has earned a strong reputation with its STEM Center, which has won numerous awards. From its location in the Learning Center, the STEM Center is the main area for academic activity at the school. It supports its students with both scholarship and internship opportunities. The success of the STEM Center has allowed the school to forge strong relationships with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, known more commonly as NASA, as well as San Francisco State University. The school’s Center for International and University Studies has allowed for a partnership with four-year institutions for bachelor’s degrees that can be earned on-site, the first junior college in California to do so.

Bachelor’s degrees are offered in many areas of study, including psychology, allied health, nursing, child development, business administration and others. The staff is comprised of many professors from other schools, such as San Francisco State, Notre Dame de Namur and National University, among others.

Cañada College Distance Education (DE) course and classes provide working professionals and busy adults the opportunity to fit a college degree into their busy schedules. Distance education programs are flexible, convenient, and provide a high level of interaction with professors and other students. Distance education courses are offered in online and hybrid formats. Online courses are offered completely online and require no campus attendance. Hybrid courses include a combination of online and on campus classes.
