California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) is a public university in Bakersfield, California. Originally founded in 1965, CSUB offers 91 bachelor's degree programs, 30 master's degree programs, and 12 teaching credential programs.

CSUB enrolls approximately 8,100 students across two campuses: the main campus in Bakersfield and a satellite campus, Antelope Valley Center, in Lancaster, California. CSUB is a commuter school, with the bulk of its student body comprised of local high school graduates and working adults pursuing higher education.

CSUB offers the only petroleum geology program west of the Rockies. There are over 90 student clubs and organizations on campus, including Associated Students Inc. (ASI), the highly involved student government organization.

Through the Extended University, California State University Bakersfield students can earn a degree or certificate online. Online degrees at CSUB are convenient, flexible and ideal for working students who are unable to attend campus.
