California Lutheran University

California Lutheran University (CLU or Cal Lutheran) is a private university located in Thousand Oaks, California. Originally established in 1959 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, CLU offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The university is one of 28 institutions affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

CLU is organized into four academic divisions: the School of Management, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Adult Evening program, and the Graduate School of Education. Students of CLU enjoy small class sizes, the average class consisting of 16 students. CLU's undergraduate programs (26 majors and 31 minors are available) culminate in either a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree. The university's 30 graduate programs culminate in certifications, credentials, and doctorate degrees.

U.S. News & World Report ranked California Lutheran University 14th among Regional Universities in the West. Forbes magazine listed CLU at #276 out of 650 on its list of the "Top Colleges" in the country.

California Lutheran University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities, a commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. CLU's School of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Additionally, CLU's Financial Planning program is registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

Several of CLU's education and business degrees can be completed online. Online degree programs are available in education leadership, higher education leadership, MBA in financial planning and organizational leadership.
