Biomedical and Laboratory Specialist

Biomedical and laboratory specialists utilize laboratory technology to diagnose illness and conduct health research. These specialists include biochemists, microbiologists, bacteriologists, and others.

Career Training and Education

Every undergraduate student studying a biomedical major must complete one class in each of these fields: behavioral science and health education, environmental health, health services administration, biostatistics, and epidemiology. Graduate students are required to take additional classes. More information about biomedical and laboratory careers can be obtained from the Association of Schools of Public Health.
