University of Illinois School of Nursing

University of Illinois’ College of Nursing (or CON) is a very research-oriented school. It continually attracts top nursing students from all over the nation and the world--as well as the best faculty and researcher. The school as four campuses located in Illinois; one in Rockford, Urbana, Peoria and Quad Cities. It also has a Global Health Leadership office.

The CON at University of Illinois is consistently ranked among the top 10 nursing schools in the nation. The U.S. News and World Report ranked the CON #1 in Illinois. Currently, the school is ranked #11 in the nation and it's Nursing-Midwifery program is ranked #5. In addition, the community and public health clinic nurse specialist, midwifery, nursing service administration programs and the Online Bachelor of Science in Nursing program have all been ranked among the top 10 in the nation.

The College of Nursing offers a variety of degrees and programs for just about every situation. If you have a High School diploma or a little bit of college under your belt and are interested in a bachelor's degree, there's the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. If you have diploma or associate's degree in nursing (and are an Registered Nursing) then there's the RN-BSN program. For those who already have a bachelor's degree in nursing (and are an RN), and are interested in becoming a nurse practitioner, nurse mid-wife or clincial nursing specialist, there's the Master of Science program. For those seeking a Phd or DNP, CON offers several options as well. For those who are just getting started, and want to become a Registered Nurse, University of Illinois offers the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
