Stillman College

Stillman College was founded in 1876 as an all black liberal arts schools. Its 100-acre campus is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The school offers bachelor's degree in programs in several fields of study, including Biology, Mathematics, Pre-Law, Studio Art, Religion, History, Music and Psychology, among others, through the Division of Arts and Sciences. Stillman College also offers Professional Education degrees in areas such as Physical Education, Accounting and Management, Administration and Elementary Education.

In addition to a rigorous academic program, the college also offers a large selection of education and life enhancing activities for its students. Students are encourage to get involved in one of several clubs and organizations sponsored by the college including, but not limited to, the marching band, fraternities & sororities, sports, radio and newspaper, honors societies, Golden Heart Club, Intelligent Black Women, and many more.

The college offers six on campus dormitories – four men and two women. Freshman and Sophomore students at Stillman are required to live on campus. Juniors and seniors are allowed to live on or off campus.

Stillman College’s athletic teams are known as the Tigers and the Lady Tigers. The men’s basketball team has been successful under new coach Michael Grant, who turned a 1-27 team into a group that was ranked in the NCAA Division II Top 25. The school also has programs in other sports such as baseball, track and field, tennis, football and softball.

Stillman is fully accredited through the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award undergraduate and graduate degrees.
