Yale University

Located in New Haven, Connecticut, Yale University is a private Ivy League university. This research school is divided into twelve smaller schools: the undergraduate college, the ten professional schools and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Each school is governed under the same entity but the faculty of each school is responsible for the degree programs and their curriculum.

Students in the undergraduate programs at Yale learn through a liberal arts curriculum while working toward a degree in their departmental majors. The library at Yale University is the 3rd largest academic library in the U.S. and serves all twelve schools.

Many important Americans are alumni of Yale University. Some of these notable alumni include 19 U.S. Supreme Court Justices, several foreign heads of state, five U.S. presidents and thirteen billionaires. Many members of Congress and U.S. diplomats are also Yale alumni. Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton both attended Yale University.

Yale University has been ranked third in U.S. national universities for more than ten years running, according to the U.S. World and News Report. Due to its Ivy League status, admissions at Yale University are highly competitive. On average, only about six percent of applicants are accepted into one of Yale’s programs.

Yale University also have several online learning initiatives designed for lifelong learners seeking to enhance their knowledge, and undergraduate and graduate students looking to supplement their campus based education. While online college courses are available for credit, Yale currently does not offer degrees that can be completed entirely online.
