Ventura College

Established in 1925, this state-funded community college is part of the Ventura County Community College District. Found in Ventura, California, Ventura College sits on more than 100 acres of land and hosts around 14,000 students.

Ventura has many offerings for students seeking credit and non-credit courses, alike. For people looking to learn more about certain topics, non-credit Community Education classes are offered three times a year. Classes are offered in the following topics: languages, fitness, cooking, financial planning, music, dance and/or writing. For those looking to obtain a degree or certificate, there are many major programs to choose from as well. Two year, Associate of Science and Arts degrees are offered in over 30 majors, including General Studies. There are almost 40 different career and/or technical certificate programs also available. In addition, students may also earn an Award of Proficiency in almost 30 fields.

Ventura has an excellent transfer rate, being in the top 25% out of all community colleges in California. Most students transfer to University of California or California State University.
