University of Virginia

The University of Virginia (UVA) is a public research university located in Charlottesville, Virginia. UVA is highly respected in the academic community, and is consistently ranked among the best universities in the country by numerous publications. U.S. News & World Report, for example, ranked UVA 2nd on its list of "Best National Universities" and 23rd overall. The University of Virginia has ranked among the top 25 institutions every year for over 26 consecutive years, since the initial inception of the rankings themselves. During this time, UVA has always ranked first or second among all public schools in the nation.

UVA enjoys another distinguishing honor: its campus is the only American campus to be named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It also produces more Rhodes Scholars than any other state-supported university in the country.

For working adults and non-traditional students who require a more flexible college learning experience than that offered by a campus-based program, the University of Virginia offers online distance learning, degree and certificate programs. Currently, UVA offers one online degree program (Bachelor's in Health Sciences Mgmt) and ten online certificates. Areas of study include project management, public administration, leadership, information technology, eMarketing and human resource management, among others.
