University of New England

The University of New England (UNE) is a vocational school enrolling approximately 8,100 students. UNE has two campuses: one in Portland, Maine, and one in Biddeford, Maine. The university is home to the only medical and dental schools in the state of Maine, and offers over 40 undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs.

UNE is organized into five academic colleges: the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Osteopathic Medicine, the College of Dental Medicine, and the Westbrook College of Health Professions. Many of UNE's degree programs are available both on-campus and online.

UNE students can participate in the university's unique study abroad programs, which send students each semester to such locations as Seville, Spain, or to the university's campus in Tangier, Morocco. Many internationally recognized scholars in the fields of health, medicine, science, and humanities are alumni of UNE.

Approximately 25% of rural Maine's primary care physicians, and 10% of all practicing physicians in the state, are graduates of the College of Osteopathic Medicine (Maine's only medical school). The College, however, does not offer an M.D. degree or a Ph.D. degree.

The University of New England offers many its degrees and certificates 100% online. It's online distance learning program is considered a top-tier online offering. All online degrees, certificates and diplomas are the same as those offered at its campus location. Earn your degree online in healthcare, public health or education.
