The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is the only institution within the University of California System that exclusively offers graduate programs in biomedical and health sciences. Located in San Francisco, California, it is considered one of the world's foremost institutions in the field of health sciences, and is a center of education, patient care, and research.

UCSF is organized into four schools: the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, the School of Pharmacy, and the School of Dentistry. The university also has a graduate division, and hundreds of laboratories throughout the schools and departments. Programs at UCSF may culminate in a Master of Science, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. UCSF was ranked the 2nd best university in the world in the field of Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy, and 3rd in the world in the field of Life and Agricultural Sciences, by the Academic Ranking of World Universities (published by Shanghai Jiaotong University each year). U.S. News & World Report consistently lists UCSF's professional schools among the best in the United States.

Through UC San Diego Extension students can pursue various online learning opportunities. Currently, UC San Diego doesn't offer online degrees that can completed entirely online.
