Santa Monica College

Santa Monica College is a thriving community college housed in Santa Monica, California. It first opened in 1929 and has grown to an enrollment of more than 30,000 students with nearly 90 areas of study offered. Students transfer to four-year schools at the highest rate in the state. Those institutions include USC, Loyola Marymount and Cal.

Areas of study include fashion design, occupational certificate programs, office information management and accounting. The Academy of Entertainment Technology is also a popular field of study. Santa Monica College also makes available programs in logistics and supply chain.

The Arts Mentor program allows for graduate-level learning from professionals in fine and applied arts. Students who show an ability to rise above traditional learning can take advantage of this program. The school has its own radio station at KCRW (89.9 FM), which specializes in public radio programming. It broadcasts in Orange and Los Angeles counties with more than 450,000 listeners.

Through SMC Online students at Santa Monica College can pursue their education via online learning. SMC Online is an excellent option for students who are working or due to other restraints are unable to attend a full time on campus degree program.
