Saint Patrick’s Seminary & University

Saint Patrick’s Seminary and University is a Roman Catholic institution for graduate studies based in Menlo Park, California – just south of San Francisco. Its focus is to provide the Pacific Rim and Western districts with clergymen.

The university and seminary receives full recognition as a graduate school by three associations – including the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, and the Congregation for Catholic Education in Rome. The seminary’s student body comprises of more than 110 men who come from over 15 districts.

Students who wish to attend St. Patrick's Seminary must first be recommended by their diocesan bishop, pass a indepth psychological exam and be interviewed by several staff and faculty members. The university's curriculum includes four years of courses in academic, spiritual and pastoral training. Following completion of the second year of studies, students receive an intensive pastoral experience. He often will service in a local parish then be called to the presbyterate.
