Saint Leo University is a private Roman Catholic university in Saint Leo, Florida. Saint Leo University was founded in 1889, making it the oldest Catholic university in the state of Florida. It was one of the first universities in the United States to offer distance education programs, providing correspondence classes to military personnel in 1973 during the Vietnam war.

Saint Leo University enrolls approximately 16,000 students throughout the world. In addition to its main campus in Saint Leo, which enrolls about 2,200 students, the university maintains numerous centers at U.S. military bases, 17 extension centers in Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, California, Texas, and Mississippi, as well as a Center for Online Learning.

There are over 40 undergraduate and master's degree programs available at Saint Leo University, as well as a number of certification programs and one doctoral program. The university employs almost 1,400 full-time and adjunct faculty.

Saint Leo University Online Degree Programs
The majority of Saint Leo University's student body study online, via the school's Center for Online Learning. This online center was created in 1998, and allows students to pursue a range of associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees completely online.

Saint Leo University turns any Internet-enabled computer into a virtual learning center. At Saint Leo students can study day or night in one of the university's state-of-the-art interactive online classrooms. All of Saint Leo's online courses are identical to the courses offered at their Florida campus—but with the added benefit of flexibility.
