Physician Assistant

Physician Assistant Physician assistants, unlike medical assistants, perform 80 percent of the same duties as doctors such as conduct tests, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and assist surgeons performing surgery. Although physician assistants are supervised by doctors, they have autonomy performing their jobs. Physician assistants are not paid like doctors but go through less training. There is great demand for them in inner cities since it is difficult to attract doctors to these areas.
