Occidental College

Located in historic Eagle Rock, the Los Angeles campus of Occidental College is the former school of U.S. president Barack Obama. He was a community organizer when he was enrolled in the private liberal arts school.

Occidental College has a 10-to-1 student-faculty ratio and 31 different majors are available for study. Small class size – only an average of 17 students – allows for specialized attention from the staff.

As an added bonus, students at Occidental can also take classes at the California Institute of Technology, which is in Pasadena, at no cost. After three years at Occidental, students can transfer to Caltech or Columbia to finish out the undergraduate work.
