MiraCosta College
A public community college, MiraCosta College’s main location is found in Oceanside, California. Meant to serve San Diego’s northern coast, a second, satellite campus can be found in Cardiff-by-the-Sea.Reaching enrollment numbers upward of 14,000 credit students, the college offers two-year associate degrees as well as over 50 certificate programs (completed in 1-2 years). Once an associate degree has been earned, students are able to transfer to the 4-year university, of their choice to begin work on their bachelor’s degree.
MiraCosta College offers many student resources. Over 1,500 students actively participate in the college’s Service Learning projects. These projects are related to the classes in which they are enrolled. For students that keep their G.P.As up, the college does participate in the National Honor Society and offers an Honors Scholars Program as well. In addition, students are offered free tutoring in just about every subject; a Wellness Center (at the main campus only; an info hub and library at both campuses; and there are over 1,000 computers at the students’ disposal.
