Lawson State Community College
Lawson State Community College is a community college located in Bessemer and Birmingham, Alabama. The college offers numerous academic programs, designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate institution, as well as career training programs designed to prepare students for entry into the workforce upon graduation. The college also features a specialized employment center, which offers guidance to students in choosing educational and career paths.Some of Lawson State's more popular career training programs include: Commercial Art, Electronics Technology, Practical Nursing, Business Administration, Cosmetology, and Plumbing, among others. Lawson State also offers several pre-professional programs in such disciplines as Physical Therapy, Engineering, Speech-Language Pathology, and Medicine.
