Fraud Investigator Salary

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics job opportunities for fraud investigators are expected to increase over the next decade. Fraud investigators with college degrees will have better employment opportunities than those without a formal education or training. Job opportunities will also be spurred by the fact that many fraud investigators are will be retiring over the next 10 years. The salaries for fraud examiners, appraisers, claims adjusters, and investigators can vary dramatically based on specialty, work experience and educational background. During 2008, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the median salary for all fraud investigators was $44,220. The 50 percentile earned averaged of $33,900-57,410 a year. The bottom 10 percentile of fraud investigators earned less than than $27,220 year while the top 10 percent of investigators earned more than $72,620 a year.
