College of the Desert

College of the Desert, also referred to as COD, is a public community college located in Palm Desert, California. COD offers two-year degrees in the Associate of Arts as well as many certificate programs in areas that support the local workforce needs. Courses in areas such as hospitality, agriculture, transportation technology, etc. are offered and well attended, by around 10,000 students.

COD is widely known for their Energy Technology Training Center. Not only is this center the model after which many other California college Automotive Programs have been designed, but it is also one of few programs that have been certified in all areas (including alternative fuels) by NATEF.

COD maintains a comprehensive transfer program. Students planning on completing their undergraduate degree will be prepared to make the transfer. Students wishing to transfer to University of California Riverside located in Indian Wells or Palm Desert’s Cal State San Bernardino (branch campuses of COD), will also receive admission assistance.

College of the Desert Students are able to complete many of their courses online. This makes earning a degree flexible and convenient. Online programs at COD are ideal for busy students who have to juggle busy schedules.
