California College of the Arts

California College of the Arts (CCA) is dedicated to providing top tier training in art, architecture, writing, and design. Originally founded in 1907, CCA enrolls approximately 2,000 students and has campuses in Oakland and San Francisco. California College of the Arts is ideally situated in the San Francisco Bay Area, a global hotspot of design, entrepreneurship, and technology. In fact, forty percent of all venture capital money in the country is invested in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley.

Students of CCA learn to shape society and culture through the study and practice of art, design, architecture, and writing. CCA not only teaches students the academic principles of this creative work, but also how to use their skills to become valuable agents of change in the world's social, cultural, economic, and environmental arenas. California College of the Arts places a strong emphasis on cultivating social and environmental responsibility, community engagement, and innovation in its students.

CCA is highly respected in the academic community, and, in terms of salary potential, is the top art and design college in the nation, according to PayScale. CCA was included on AC Online's 2013 list of "Highest Return on Investment Colleges in California," an distinction given to only one other art college that year. Additionally, CCA is ranked #4 among colleges and universities in the San Francisco Bay Area for highest-paying degrees (behind Stanford, Santa Clara University, and UC Berkeley). According to U.S. News & World Report, CCA boasts the best M.F.A. programs in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, Ceramics, Industrial Design, Painting/Drawing, and Sculpture.
